How do you hire a private car to go from Singapore to Mersing Pier?

I want to go to from Singapore to Mersing Pier in Malaysia. Everyone, who has gone has either driven themself or taken a shuttle or a private car. However it has always been arragend by the hotel and the hotel I want to stay at dose not do it. Can anyone tell me who drives there. Or how to get there. I have a very active 2 year old so I need simple and quick.
